Bee Squared Project
On Monday, March 13th Town Mayor Nigel Brown and Town Councillor Gerald Kelly visited the Town's Infant, Junior and Primary Schools to deliver the Bee Squared project flower seeds for every pupil at these schools.
At each school, the Mayor and Councillor presented the seeds to the school's council members. Town Mayor Nigel Brown said that he was extremely impressed with the school council members and has invited them all to visit the Town Hall to see how the Town Council works. In addition, it was great to hear that the schools will be planting seeds too and he is looking forward to receiving photographs of the children's flowers so that they can be displayed on the Town Council's website.
Councillor Gerald Kelly said we had a lovely afternoon meeting all the council members at each school. All the pupils were well informed and talked about their role as council members and how they are working to help improve their schools. They were all excited about receiving the seeds and were keen to plant them in their gardens or flower pots.
The "Bee Squared" project is one of many projects that the Town Council is developing to maintain and enhance biodiversity and green spaces throughout Higham Ferrers.
