This Book Club meets at the Higham Ferrers Community Library and wellbeing Hub to discuss a book that has been read. Each member of the group gets a copy of the book to read and then it is returned to the club when discussed and another one taken. The group supplies the books.

Sunday 1st September

Angela is leading a 6 mile circular walk in the Wicksteed Park area.

Meet at 9.30am in Saffron Road car park for car sharing or 10am, Grantown Close, Kettering NN15 5DJ

Please note : The autumn / winter walks start at 10am

Walks will normally go ahead whatever the weather. Our walks include fields and footpaths so stout footwear is recommended, as is waterproof clothing. Bring a drink and a packed lunch for day walks. Walkers are requested to leave their dogs at home.

The safety of our members is paramount but each walker needs to take responsibility for themselves.

Higham Ferrers Horticultural Show

Higham Ferrers Horticultural Show

Higham Horticultural Show is open to everyone, young and old, beginners and experienced producers. You don't have to live in Higham Ferrers to take part – all entries hare very welcome.

Some classes will be just for fun and some for those who take their produce far more seriously, classes for vegetables, fruit, flowers, floral art, cakes and preserves.

There is plenty of time for you to plan what you will be showcasing. The recipes for the baking section will be on their website along with details of classes and how to enter.

Entry forms can be downloaded from the website www.highamferrerstourism.org.uk or they can be picked up from the Town Hall.

Entrants can submit a maximum of three exhibits in each class. It is 50p an entry and free for children. It's free to view the winning entries from 11am on the day.

Enjoy an array of interesting stalls, fun entertainment, displays, activities, crafts and much more!

FREE Open top bus tour of Rushden & Higham Ferrers available departing at 1.30pm and 3pm from the layby outside Wildwood at Rushden Lakes. Limited spaces. A number of spaces are available to pre-book now but you can also sign up on the day, contact: info@highamferrers-tc.gov.uk

Pat and Barry are leading a 10 mile day walk in the Fermyn Woods area. The route includes, Lyveden New Bield, Aldwincle Lodge and Titchmarsh Wood. No stiles, rolling countryside and woodland.

For car sharing meet in Saffron Road car park at 9.15am or 10am by the Skylark café, Fermyn Woods County Park, Lyveden Road, Brigstock. NN14 3HS.

Please note there is a £3.50 parking fee and bring a packed lunch.

Walks will normally go ahead whatever the weather. Our walks include fields and footpaths so stout footwear is recommended, as is waterproof clothing. Bring a drink and a packed lunch for day walks. Walkers are requested to leave their dogs at home.
